What Am I Doing Wrong? | The Eternal Question
You post a clip with the caption that every artist has whispered at 3 AM. "What am I doing wrong?" It is the cry of the lost navigator.
Usually, when we ask this, we are looking for a technical fix (a button to press) for what is actually a conceptual problem. You aren't doing something "wrong"; you are likely trying to do too many things at once. You are judging the draft as if it were the final polish.
The Sovereign Solution:
1. Diagnose, Don't Despair: Treat your voice like a car engine. Is it the fuel (breath)? The spark (resonance)? The transmission (language)?
2. One Thing at a Time: Fix one variable. "Today I only care about the rhythm." Ignore the pitch.
3. The "Right" Mistake: Sometimes the "wrong" sound is just the "right" sound for a different style. Catalog it, don't delete it.
